Online Sessions: FAQ

If you think I might be able to help you, but you don’t live in the area, I offer online movement sessions via FaceTime, What’s App, or Skype.

How does it work?!

On the first visit, I will do a visual assessment and lead you through a series of self tests. Then we discuss potential risk areas or areas that need improvement. I will start you out with 1-2 techniques/exercises for you to do. Online cases are typically 8-10 total sessions that will last about 3-4 months. We usually start out 1 time per week for 3-4 weeks and then taper to every once every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, etc. until your test scores improve to your desired area.

How long is each session?

A session will typically last about an hour. We may discuss anything from your movement restrictions, training regiments, sleep hygiene, nutrition, pain management, and other topics – whatever it is that you need to succeed.

Are these session reimbursable by my insurance?

These sessions are not covered by insurance as they are not considered physical therapy. You may have some problem areas that need addressing, and these postural exercises and treatments are very likely to improve your symptoms. However, I cannot bill these sessions as physical therapy.

What do I need to have available at home?

The great thing about Postural Restoration is you really don’t need a whole lot of materials to do the techniques! Here’s a list of items you will need to have available for sessions:

  • Access to FaceTime, Skype or What’s App
  • Balloons
  • A drinking straw (chickfila ones are my favorite)
  • Small ball or rolled up towel (you can get them at the dollar store)
  • A book that is about 2″ tall
  • A small step about 4-6″ tall
  • A light resistance circle band (they are available on amazon or target)
  • Two bath towels
  • Access to a wall
  • Yoga mat (optional)

How often are sessions and how many do I need?

We will have a discussion based on your test results as to what kind of program you will need and how often we will need to work together. The average individual usually has between 8-10 sessions over the course of 4-6 months. Some individuals also get the occasional “tune-up” and will have a pop up session here or there after they are done with the program.

I like to start with 1 time a week for a few weeks; mostly to make sure you are performing the basics correctly and your test scores are improving. Once you get the hang of everything, we will taper off and I will give you several things to work on over the course to 2-3 weeks at a time.
